A RARE Silver Mercury Glass Butlers/Witches Ball.. my first thought this was a Witches Ball, but it has no fitting or hanging loop.. so then it dawned on me that this could be a Butlers Ball. Often placed on the mantelpiece so that the Butler could see the reflection of the guests in it, so he’d know they’d finished eating and he could collect the plates! A great find.
